Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar, an American and British sitarist. She is the youngest woman and was the first person to receive the British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young rising superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is the student of Ravi Shankar, and the daughter of Ravi Shankar. Her childhood was spent bouncing back and forth from London in the UK to New Delhi. At the age of 13, her first show at New Delhi took place. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha was only 17 years old, has had an impressive recording and performing career. Since quite some time, she regularly performs with her father. In 1998, she released Anourag as her debut album as a solo artist. It was nominated for a Grammy Award. Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Since she's performed at every major stage in the world, her stage career is extensive. Anoushka isn't just a performer. In 2002, she released an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is a pictorial biography which is a respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. In addition, she acted in a film in 2003. Her role was an Bharat natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her career and there will be many new things that will be coming from this talented woman. Anoushka shankar is an English born singer who travelled her early days in London, Delhi and California. Anoushka started her music studies at the age of nine. Four years later she played her first appearance on the sitar in Delhi during her father's 75th birthday party. Anoushka, who accompanied her father during his world tour, gained an incredible quantity of knowledge. In her teenage years she performed in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. The youngest female to receive the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament in recognition of her talent and musicianship within performing in the Asian Arts.
